Wojciech Ligenza
Without routine. About the poetry of Wislava Szymborska and Zbigniew Herbert

 

The book by the Polish literary critic, Professor of Jagiellonian University Wojciech Ligenza is dedicated to the work of Wislawa Szymborska and some aspects of the work of Zbigniew Herbert. On the example of specific texts, the specifics of the philosophical and love lyrics of the Nobel laureate, her game creativity, views on history and art are revealed. The comparative analysis also describes the relationship between man and nature in the poetry of Szymborska and Herbert.

The publication is a translation of individual chapters of the monograph: Wojciech Ligęza. Without routine. O poezji Wisławy Szymborskiej i Zbigniew Herbert a (Krakow, 2016). It is published in the framework of cooperation between the Ivan Limbach Publishing House and the Institute of Literature, established in 2019 by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland. One of the main goals of the Institute is to popularize high Polish culture and literature.
