Oleg Yuriev
Collection of poems (In 2 volumes)

Oleg Yuryev (1959-2018) is an outstanding Russian poet, a representative of the last generation of uncensored literature. For the first time, his poetic legacy is brought together in a two-volume book. In the works of Yuryev, the unexplored possibilities of the Russian language are revealed, the past of poetic culture closes with the future. The world in which his poetry exists is the world of utopia's collapse. Yuryev's contribution to modern Russian culture is great and diverse. His novels and books of essays became an important phenomenon of the literature of the 1990s-2000s. His plays are performed in many Russian and European theaters. His articles generated fruitful discussions. In the 1980s, he and his friends founded the literary project "Luggage Storage" in Leningrad, which in various forms lasted until 2015 and was an important part of the poetic landscape of the last decades. Yuryev has done a lot to return to our cultural consciousness the forgotten names of Russian literature of the XX century and to attract attention to the work of talented authors of new generations.
